ROADSIDE CHAPEL
SERVE
A PLACE FOR YOU TO SERVE
Buildings & Grounds
Whether it's removing snow and ice from our walkways in the winter, weeding our gardens in the spring and summer, or raking leaves in the fall, think about the first impression you've created when your work is done! Broken light bulb--hard to see. Squeaky door--how annoying. Overflowing trash cans and dirty carpet--unsightly. Tables and chairs that need to be set up for an event--someone has to do it. Put your skills to work for the Lord.
Children's Ministries
You can have an eternal impact on the life of a child. We are always looking for people willing to give their time, effort, and talent to raise up the next generation. Opportunities include lead teacher, classroom assistant, check-in team member, technical assistant, RC Kidz Worship team member, and resource maintenance. We strive to create the safest possible environment for our children. Therefore, anyone working in children's ministry must complete our background check and training process. Please contact our RC Kidz Director at cm.roadsidechapel@gmail.com for more information.
Eldercare
We have a long history of ministering to the elderly in our community. Do you have an extra hour a week? Reading articles from the daily paper or the Bible would add real value to a person with failing eyesight. Befriending someone whose family is far away and has few visitors would cheer up their day. Or perhaps you have a talent you could share -- singing, playing an instrument, stand-up comedy. Having a heart for the elderly could lead you on many an exciting journey.
Guest Services
Serving the Lord by serving others.
Guest Services includes our greeters and ushers, Coffee Bar workers and Welcome Center hosts. You're the first face a newcomer sees and you have the opportunity to make them feel welcomed and at home. They may feel some apprehension attending a new church for the first time and you can set them at ease.
Our greeters and ushers assist guests and regulars by answering questions, helping people get seated, and checking the security of our auditorium, classrooms, and hallway during service. Coffee Bar workers prepare and maintain our hot beverage center. Welcome Center hosts handle event registrations and answer guest questions.
Missions
We support missionaries throughout the world from Latin America to the Middle East, from small vllages to college campuses, from ministry to children to tech support for those on the field. In the United States we support Teen Challenge here in Vermont for both men and women who are fighting drug and alcohol addiction as well as those involved in leading the Jewish faith to a relationship with Messiah. Locally we support First Step Pregnancy Clinic as they help couples and single women cope with tough decisions. The Rutland Community Cupboard provides food staples for those less fortunate, even a limited supply of pet food.
Worship Team
Do you have a special calling to help bring us into God's presence Sunday mornings? We have opportunities for you if you're a singer or musician as part of our praise and worship in the main service, in Kidz Church, or even our Youth Group.
More technically inclined? We can always use your assistance running sound and video and recording and uploading our weekly message. Whether it's in the main service, Kidz Church or the Youth Group, we'll put your talent to good use!
Bus Ministry
We now have an 18-passenger bus to provide round-trip pick-ups for those who can't drive.
Currently, we're servicing only the 9 AM service, but would like more drivers so we can also handle the 11 AM service.
If you have a CDL license with passenger certification, we encourage you to contact our church office. Or if interested in obtaining one, let us know.
Even if you don't drive the bus, but have a heart for welcoming people and assisting them on and off the bus, please apply as well as a bus host.
